FDMTL’s patchwork haori, washed down to look like three years of wear. It’s built from indigo denim and other fabrics in mixed weaves and shades, a patchwork approach inspired by boro, the Japanese tradition of patching and mending cloth. The 3 Year Wash gives it deep fading and natural-looking wear marks before you put it on, so the vintage character is there from day one, and each panel shows the wash a little differently. It’s cut like a traditional haori: open at the front with no closures, relaxed through the body and armholes, and slightly cropped so it doesn’t look overly loose. It’s unlined with a pocket on each side, and works over a tee or shirt with wide or slim trousers.
