Comme Des Garcons Parfum
Comme des Garçons founded by Rei Kawakubo, began in 1969 in Tokyo. The label was initially known as Komu de Gyaruson, translating to like boys. During their first release at the Paris Fashion Week in the 1980s, French critics claimed Kawakubo's collection as post-atomic and Hiroshima chic. Despite the hostile critics, Kawakubo continued to express her interest in clothes that did not define the sexuality of an individual. Today, the avant-garde image of the brand is what separates it from the rest. The distressed fabrics, unfinished seams, and playfulness reinvent day-to-day wardrobes, giving them a little edge. Kawakubo designs each garment in Japan, where she continues to push the beauty and fashion industries' standards, creating a world of pure authenticity and uniqueness.
