Herringbone Twill Speical Jacket - Olive

  • The herringbone twill adopted by the US Army was used for combat purposes and as protective clothing against gas
  • The herringbone twill was made in a single color, olive drab, which has high camouflage effectiveness, and the Jacket, Herringbone Twill underwent a total of four minor changes between 1941 and 1943
  • The first pattern had cuffed sleeves and pleated pockets on the chest, but from the second pattern onwards, the pockets became larger, vertically elongated with gussets, and the sleeve pattern was changed to straight sleeves
  • The third pattern is characterized by a metal button on the back of the collar for attaching and detaching the hood, and a gas flap was added to the inside of the placket to enhance the airtightness as protective clothing to prevent the entry of poison gas
  • The label was marked "SPECIAL" because of the addition of this gas flap
  • All patterns have a front closure with 13-star metal buttons painted black, and the spacing between the first and second buttons is wide, so when the first button is unbuttoned it looks like a wide lapel, giving it a military uniform appearance
  • 100% Cotton
  • Made in Japan

Model is 6’2 (188cm) and wears a size 42
